Karthikeya Murthy | Composer

Karthikeya Murthy is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter and music producer. 

In the year 2014 acclaimed producer/singer Mr. S.P. Charan gave his first breakthrough in the feature film Moone Moonu Varthai (2015) directed by Ms. Madhumita, with whom his association still continues in all her subsequent projects, after spotting his talent in a college music project. 

Karthikeya is also passionate about social issues especially women and child sex tracking. He composed and produced a song THE END (2017) to create awareness on this issue along with Mr. Karky (lyricist). He is also currently working on a documentary on the first official transgender marriage in India. 

The film KD (a) Karuppudurai (2019/20) directed by Ms. Madhumita and produced by SAREGAMA was the turning point in his life which got rave reviews for his score from almost all the reviewers. The film also gains further importance as it was a key ingredient in fetching him the BAFTA Breakthrough. In Karthikeya’s own words, “Bafta Breakthrough is not just an honour but an important opportunity to learn and a huge motivation to work hard”.
