Kae Alexander is one BAFTA Elevate participant that may be more familiar, particularly after her standout performance in the BAFTA-nominated BBC/Netflix four-parter Collateral in 2018.
Born in Japan but a daughter of London from the age of 10, when her mother moved to the UK capital, Kae graduated from the Guidhall School of Music and Drama in 2011. She dipped her toe in the waters of television soon after in a variety of roles and shows, but it was her performance as series regular Jing in BBC Three sitcom Bad Education that first brought her attention. More key roles followed, including a part in the internationally celebrated Game of Thrones (HBO) and crime thriller Hard Son (BBC) before she landed Linh in Collateral. She starred in both seasons of the BAFTA-winning Fleabag (BBC) and featured as Safe House in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One (2018). In 2017, she was named as one of the Evening Standard’s Rising Stars.
In 2019, she landed prime roles in Fox’s espionage thriller Deep State, season two of Superman spin-off series, Krypton, and eight-part drama Strangers (Amazon/ITV). She will soon be seen in two large scale feature film releases: Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), with Angelina Jolie, and Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite (2020 tbc), alongside Mark Wahlberg, Rupert Friend and Chiwetal Ejiofor.
