Tim Corrie will be the 40th Chairman of the Academy in its 63 year history, having served as Deputy Chairman for one year.David Parfitt will continue to serve the Academy as Deputy Chairman for a further year.
Tim said: “I am honoured to become Chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. As the first agent working in the arena of film and television production to assume this role, I trust that some negotiating skills will stand me in good stead as I succeed David Parfitt, a great exponent of the Academy over the past two years. I want to continue to make the BAFTA name synonymous with excellence not just through our Awards, but also through our debates, events and lectures. I want to see our Learning and Events programme remain at the very core of our activities, consolidate our vital work in the video games sector and strengthen our ties with our branches in Scotland, Wales and the USA.”
