The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the newly elected Deputy Chair of the Academy as well as the chairs and deputy chairs of its Film and Television Committees, who will also sit on the Academy’s Board of Trustees.

Jane Lush will continue as Chair of the Academy for the remainder of her two-year term alongside Dame Pippa Harris, who was elected to Deputy Chair earlier this month.

Marc Samuelson has been elected as Chair of the Film Committee, having held the position of Deputy Chair for two years. Marc will serve alongside Alison Thompson, who has been elected Deputy Chair.

Krishnendu Majumdar has been re-elected for a second two-year term as Chair of the Television Committee, alongside Hannah Wyatt who has been elected Deputy Chair.

Jane Lush, Chair of BAFTA, said: “I’m delighted to welcome the new trustees to our Board, and am thrilled to be working closely with Pippa Harris in her new role as Deputy Chair of the Academy.

“Our film, games and television committees represent a membership of 7,500 industry professionals in the UK and around the world. From mentoring emerging talent, lending their insights to our events and online BAFTA Guru platform, to voting in our Awards, our members and committees sit at the heart of everything we do as an Academy, and allow us to continue supporting the growth of UK talent and celebrate creative excellence.”

All sector committee chairs and deputy chairs are directors of the Academy, and sit on the Board of Trustees.

BAFTA’s Sector Committees recommend to the Board of Trustees how best to carry out the Academy’s mission in their respective industry sectors, while the Board itself manages the business of the Academy and is the ultimate authority on its affairs.
