A writer, producer and director of horror and blaxploitation cult classics, Cohen’s work included Hell Up In Harlem (1973), It’s Alive (1974), God Told Me To (1976), Q (1982) and Maniac Cop (1988). He enjoyed a mainstream renaissance later in his career, writing Phone Booth (2002), Cellular (2004) and Captivity (2007).
