An American actor best known for his role as the caretaker Higgins on Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), Hillerman won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance on the show. On the big screen he notably appeared in The Last Picture Show (1971), Chinatown (1974) and Blazing Saddles (1974).
