An actress with a varied list of credits, Sladen is most closely associated with the character of Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who (1974-1977), returning to the role for occasional specials and the series proper in 2006. She subsequently starred in the CBBC spin off The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007-2010).
