Looking to progress your creative career but need some financial help? The Prince William BAFTA Bursary offers up to £2,000 in financial support to help you take that next step.

It’s a fund that offers talented individuals the chance to apply for help to cover a specific cost. And it could be the difference between being able to take part in an activity, or make a purchase, that will help you further your film, games or TV career or not.

I am hugely proud of BAFTA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that young talent from all walks of life are given every possible opportunity to build and develop successful careers in the film, games and television industries.
HRH Prince of Wales, President of BAFTA

Offering a huge step up to bursary recipients

Sam Hume, a writer and producer, received a Prince William BAFTA Bursary in 2024 and used it to buy production software.

He says: "Having anyone see potential in you and your career is a huge motivator. Having it be BAFTA is even more incredible. I’m so grateful for the team who took the time to look into my application as well as any donors; this bursary really will offer me a huge step up and provide tools for my future productions that I just wouldn’t have had access to otherwise."

Sam has also attended numerous events at BAFTA where he has had the opportunity to connect with fellow bursary recipients, industry practitioners, and supporters of the Prince William BAFTA Bursary Fund. He even had the opportunity to meet actor Jason Isaacs at a recent BAFTA Patron event and discuss his entry to the industry and how the Prince William BAFTA Bursary has opened up opportunities for him as a writer and producer.
