The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced today that Graham Norton will return to host the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards in 2019.
The awards champion excellence by recognising and celebrating the very best in British television programmes, performances and behind-the-scenes talent from 2018. Killing Eve leads this years nominations with 14 nominations, followed by A Very English Scandal with 12, six for Patrick Melrose, and five for Bodyguard and The Little Drummer Girl. Graham Norton said: “It has been almost 15 years since I first hosted the Television Awards and what a pleasure it is to be returning to host once again. 2018 was a stand-out year for Television and I look forward to seeing the brilliant talent in our industry rewarded.”

This year’s Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards will be held at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 12 May and will be broadcast on BBC One, with live Red Carpet footage across BAFTA’s social channels (@BAFTA).
Presenter, comedian, and author Graham Norton releases his 25th series of popular comedy chat show The Graham Norton Show this Friday 5th April, which has won Norton six BAFTA Television Awards and a further four nominations over the years.
Norton presents a Saturday morning show on BBC Radio 2, featuring guest interviews and music. He is also known for his witty commentary of the Eurovision song contest, which he has presented since 2009.
Over the years Norton has presented many prime-time television shows with recent credits including; RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (BBC, 2019), The Biggest Weekend (BBC, 2018), Let it Shine (BBC, 2017), and Children in Need (BBC, 2016-18).
