The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced today that, for the first time, the Nominees’ Party of the EE British Academy Film Awards at Kensington Palace in London will be co-hosted by Nespresso. The event takes place on Saturday 11 February, the night before the Awards.
Amanda Berry OBE, Chief Executive of BAFTA, said: “We look forward to celebrating with our nominees at the Nominees’ Party at Kensington Palace, and are thrilled that the party this year will be co-hosted by Nespresso, a brand that is truly committed to supporting creative talent, and the film industry at large.”
Francisco Nogueira, Managing Director of Nespresso UK and Ireland, said: “Nespresso has a long and proud history of supporting the film industry and its emerging talent, so we are delighted to announce our role as an official co-host to the Nominees’ Party for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2017. As a brand we have always sought to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity; the same attributes that BAFTA seeks to celebrate through its Film Awards. To add BAFTA to our list of partners reinforces our ongoing ambition to support the film industry, and we look forward to celebrating success with the exceptional talent at the Official BAFTA Nespresso Nominees’ Party at Kensington Palace in February.”
Storytelling is part of the Nespresso brand DNA and there is no greater medium for this than film. Nespresso has supported film festivals that recognize outstanding creativity and talent for many years, most notably the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlinale, and now Nespresso is looking forward to celebrating success and exceptional talent with BAFTA. The Nespresso Talents contest – a global competition which encourages and rewards talented filmmakers – also displays the brand’s synergy with the film industry. The 2017 competition will officially launch to coincide with the BAFTA Awards in February.
The nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards were announced on Tuesday 10 January. More information is available at www.bafta.org/film.
The Awards will take place on Sunday 12 February at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD. The ceremony is also broadcast in all major territories around the world.
On the night, www.bafta.org will feature red carpet highlights, photography and winners interviews, as well as dedicated coverage on its social networks including Facebook (/BAFTA), Twitter (@BAFTA / #EEBAFTAs), Snapchat and Instagram. You can also follow the action on Nespresso’s social media accounts including www.facebook.com/nespresso, @NespressoUK on Twitter and #NespressoTalents.
