London, 29 January 2015: The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has today announced that the BAFTA Film Gala Dinner, in support of its ‘Give Something Back’ campaign, will take place on Thursday 5 February at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, ahead of the EE British Film Academy Awards on Sunday 8 February.
The inaugural BAFTA Film Gala Dinner will raise funds for ‘Give Something Back’, the BAFTA campaign supporting young people from all backgrounds to enter the moving image industries, connecting them with some of the best film, television and game makers to help inspire and guide their careers.
BAFTA supporters confirmed to attend include Andy Serkis, Emilia Fox, Henry Cavill, Imelda Staunton, Joanna Lumley, Miranda Hart, Miranda Richardson, Natalie Dormer, Natasha McElhone, Olivia Colman, Simon Pegg and Tom Hiddleston.
Guests will enjoy a dinner followed by silent and live auctions with prizes to include film- and television-related lots including tickets to attend the EE British Academy Film Awards on 8 February, a set visit to watch Downton Abbey being filmed, a private screening of the next Bond film and a number of lunches and dinners with well-known actors. The auction will be followed with entertainment from The London Cabaret Club and a party at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly.

The BAFTA Film Gala Dinner forms part of a week of activity around London in the lead up to the EE BAFTA Academy Film Awards which will take place on 8 February at The Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden. The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry for the 10th time and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD, preceded by a red carpet show on BBC. The ceremony is also broadcast in all major territories around the world. On the night, www.bafta.org will feature red carpet highlights, photography and winners interviews, as well as dedicated coverage on its social networks including Facebook (/BAFTA), Twitter (@BAFTA / #EEBAFTAs), Tumblr and Instagram.
