Classical musician and TV presenter Myleene Klass, BAFTA Cymru Award winning actor Callum Scott Howells, new ‘Doctor Who’ star Ncuti Gatwa and Strictly professional dancer Amy Dowden lead the stars presenting awards at this Sunday’s 31st BAFTA Cymru Awards.

Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones is returning as host of the awards, which will take place at St David’s Hall in Cardiff on 9 October. Alex said, “Not only is it a real privilege and honour to be hosting the BAFTA Cymru Awards again this year, it’s just so exciting for it to be back as a live ceremony.”

She added, “There really is no better atmosphere in which to recognise and celebrate all the amazing television and film being produced in Wales – huge congratulations to all of the nominees.”

Myleene Klass is also a BAFTA Cymru Awards 2022 nominee for her documentary Myleene: Miscarriage and Me. Callum Scott Howells (It’s A Sin), Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and BAFTA Cymru Award winning Amy Dowden (Strictly Amy: Chrohn’s & Me), are presenting alongside Welsh actress Morfydd Clark (Ring of Power, His Dark Materials), Welsh drag performer Tayce Szura-Radix (Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK), Welsh actress Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve, Sanditon), Welsh actor Tom Cullen (Weekend, Downton Abbey), Cardiff-born actress Abbie Hern (The Pact, Peaky Blinders), 2019 BAFTA Children’s TV award winner Emily Burnett (Hollyoaks, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins), Welsh actress Mali Ann Rees (Hidden, Tourist Trap), producer and writer Shane Allen (Am I Being Unreasonable, Brass Eye), actress Miriam Isaac (Age of Outrage), writer Kiri Pritchard-McLean (Rob Gilbert’s Growing Pains), actress Shalisha James-Davis (Casualty, Mary Queen of Scots) and actor Ukweli Roach (Annika).

Amy Dowden, who won a BAFTA Cymru in 2021 for her documentary Strictly Amy: Chrohn’s & Me, commented, “It is a great honour to be asked to present an award at BAFTA Cymru 2022. My documentary, Strictly Amy: Crohn’s & Me, was a very personal and important film for me so it was such a thrill when it was recognised by BAFTA Cymru last year. We are blessed with some incredible creative talent in Wales and I cannot wait to help celebrate it on this special evening.

New Welsh singer-songwriter MACY, who released her first EP ‘Word4Luv’ in late 2021, will perform live on the evening.

This year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards will be in-person for the first time in two years. The ceremony will be available to watch live on BAFTA’s YouTube channel.
