Tony Walton

Production Designer, Costume Designer, Scenic Designer

A British production designer and costume designer, who earned multiple honours in a career that lasted almost 50 years. His two BAFTA nominations came for his costume and art design work on Murder on the Orient Express (1974). He won an Oscar for art direction for All That Jazz (1979), earning three further costume nominations for Mary Poppins (1964), Murder on the Orient Express and The Wiz (1978), plus an art direction nod for the latter. His Emmy win was for art direction on Death of a Salesman (1985). His theatre work also saw him win three Tony wins and many more nominations. He received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Art Directors Guild in 2012.
