Sir Clive Sinclair

Entrepreneur, Inventor
30 July 1940 to 16 September 2021

A British inventor and entrepreneur who was instrumental in making home computers affordable. The ZX-80 (which went on sale in 1980), followed by the ZX-81 (1981) and ZX Spectrum (1982), presented a generation with the opportunity to both play games and learn to program at home. Not all of Sinclair’s inventions were as successful, but they did introduce such bestselling games as Jet Set Willy (1984), the Hungry Horace series, Skool Daze (1984), Trans Am (1983), The Hobbit (1982) and Knight Lore (1984) to an eager fan base.
