A British actor, who is best known for playing Len Reynolds in more than 190 episodes of Emmerdale (2001-2007). He also played Joe Carroll, the shy next door neighbour to The Royle Family (1998-2012). In a career spanning 50 years, he featured in both film and television, including the likes of Coronation Street (1976-1990), The Liver Birds (1978), All Creatures Great and Small (1978-1990), The Brontë Sisters (1979), Juliet Bravo (1982), In Loving Memory (1983, 1986), The New Statesman (1987), The Beiderbecke Tapes (1987) and its sequel The Beiderbecke Connection (1988), Victoria Wood (1989), Brassed Off (1996), Playing the Field (1998-1999), The Parole Officer (2001), Skins (2011) and Doctors (2007- 2012).
