Norman Lloyd

Actor
8 November 1914 to 10 May 2021

An American actor by trade, Norman Lloyd would go on to earn both producing and directing credits. He started out on the stage, working with Orson Welles’ Mercury Theater company before landing film roles, including Alfred Hitchcock’s Saboteur (1942) and Spellbound (1945), and Charlie Chaplin’s Limelight (1952). Hitchcock asked Lloyd to produce 184 episodes of his Alfred Hitchcock Presents television series (1957-1962), as well as 44 episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962-1965). He continued to act, too, with notable roles in Dead Poets Society (1989), The Age of Innocence (1993) and, his last role, aged 100, in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck (2015).
