An American writer, who was blacklisted, alongside her screenwriter husband Ben Barzman, by Hollywood for having communist sympathies in the 1950s. They moved to Europe to continue to work, often under pseudonyms, returning to the US in 1976. Norma Barzman’s credits were the films Never Say Goodbye, The Locket (both 1946) and Finishing School (aka Fanciulle di lusso or Luxury Girls, 1952) and Italian police drama series Il Triangolo Rosso (1967). Later, she was a key activist in championing the restoration of credits to those forced to work under a fake name during the blacklisting era.
