A British television director whose career began as a floor manager on Crossroads, Laughland worked as a production manager before completing the BBC Directors course. He went on to direct episodes of numerous popular shows including The Bill (1989-1999), Wire in the Blood (2002-2003) and Lewis (2014-2015).
