Machiko Kyō

A Japanese actress best known for her role in Rashomon (1950), Kyō portrays the wife of a samurai warrior in four conflicting accounts of his murder. She worked with many of Japan’s greatest and most prominent directors in the likes of Ugetsu (1953), Gate of Hell (1953) and Floating Weeds (1959).
