A Northern Irish actor who spent much of his career Belfast’s Lyric theatre and was an active member of the union Equity, Murphy had joined the cast of Game of Thrones (2015) shortly before his death. His major screen credits included Cal (1984), Angela’s Ashes (1999) and Dracula Untold (2014).
