An American actor and comedian who made early appearances opposite his elder brother in a guest role on The Dick Van Dyke Show (1962-2965), Van Dyke had a tumultuous television career but eventually found success with a long-running role on Coach (1989-1997). On the big screen he notably starred in McLintock! (1963).
