Bob Goody

A British actor and writer, whose screen career spanned 40-plus years. With comedian Mel Smith, he wrote and performed in Smith and Goody (1980), a sketch show designed to inspire children to read books. He also wrote BBC sitcom Wilderness Road (1986) with Richard Cottan. His screen acting credits were more extensive, including roles in Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson (1979), The History of Mr. Polly (1980), Flash Gordon (1980), Porterhouse Blue (1987), The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), The Blackheath Poisonings (1992), Treasure Island (1995), The Borrowers, Crime Traveller (both 1997), The Ghost Hunter (2001), Crusoe (2008), Mr. Turner (2014), Fleabag (2019) and 23 Walks (2020). His final credit was for A Clever Woman (2023).
