Peter O'Donnell

Writer
10 April 1920 to 2 May 2010

In a long career plotting newspaper comic strips O’Donnell’s most enduring creation was the feisty heroine Modesty Blaise. A popular presence in the London Evening Standard between 1963 and 1996, the character was spun off into books and an eponymous feature film (1965) starring Monica Vitti, directed by Joseph Losey.
