An American comedian best known for It’s Garry Shandling’s Show (1986-1990) and The Larry Sanders Show (1992-1988), Shandling won a Best International Series BAFTA for the latter in 1999 and proved hugely influential to a generation of comedians who admired his innovative style of self-referential meta comedy.
