With his mellifluous baritone, Emmanuel was responsible for a stirring moment in Zulu (1963), leading a chorus of Men Of Harlech for his fellow South Wales Borderers just before the Zulu hordes overwhelm them. Active on stage and a stalwart on Welsh television, he also performed in cabaret and pantomime.
