An exotic presence in British movies of the 1930s, German-born Desni made her London stage debut in 1931. She starred in Falling For You (1933) and Jack Ahoy (1934) opposite Jack Hulbert, and others including How’s Chances? (1934), Blue Smoke (1935), The Squeaker (1937) and Fire Over England (1937).
