BAFTA Photography Commission: Jessie Craig

18 November 2019

Photographer Jessie Craig has been commissioned in capturing past and present EE Rising Star nominees and winners

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced today that Jessie Craig has been commissioned in capturing past and present EE Rising Star nominees and winners.

Jessie will create a series of authentic portraits of new talent that have been nominated for or won the EE Rising Star Award.  The public-voted EE Rising Star Award honours young actors who have demonstrated exceptional talent and ambition and have begun to capture the imagination of the British public.Event: Photography Commission: Jessie CraigDate: VariousVenue: Various-BAFTA/Jessie Craig Her relaxed, youthful style perfectly matches the subject and will bring a freshness to the collection.  The commission will run until early 2021 – tying in with the unveiling of the newly refurbished BAFTA Piccadilly. Initial subjects include Emma Stone, Ruth Negga, Taron Egerton and Sienna Miller.

The portraits in the Jessie Craig BAFTA Photography Commission will form a body of work distinct, though complementary to, BAFTA’s photography archive and will provide a valuable asset for BAFTA’s growing exhibition programme.

Jessie Craig said: "It is an honour to be commissioned by BAFTA to photograph such incredible talent, and to follow their successes beyond the EE Rising Star Award.”

The BAFTA Photography Commission is a collaboration between an established photographer and BAFTA that seeks to extend creatively their joint work in photographic art, in support of BAFTA’s mission to celebrate excellence in screen arts.
