BAFTA 195 Piccadilly is looking for an Assistant Banqueting Manager to join its team.

Start Date: April 2022

Salary: £35,000

Contract Type: Full time permanent fully flexible -  will work a variety of shifts, on any 5 days, based on a 45-hour week across 7 days each week

Job purpose

The Assistant Banqueting Manager is responsible for supporting the Banqueting manager in delivering all events held at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly. This would entail: -

  • Leading the BAFTA 195 Piccadilly events team in its delivery of all events
  • Assisting in different departments when required
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
  • To liaise with the banqueting manager and operations manager to ensure service standards are met at all times
  • To be a duty manager of BAFTA 195 Piccadilly
  • To be a key holder of BAFTA 195 Piccadilly

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To work alongside the Banqueting Manager on events
  • Monitoring staff breaks and ensuring floor is covered at all times
  • To ensure all BAFTA Piccadilly events are delivered to the highest standards
  • To monitor the uniform and grooming standards for BAFTA Piccadilly events staff and ensure all members of the teams adhere to them
  • To ensure all seating plans and allergens are served correctly and communicated clearly to the head chef
  • To report any breakages/problems to the Banqueting manager
  • Responsible for ensuring waiting staff follow procedures and standard operating procedures correctly
  • Assisting in different departments when required
  • To be a point of call for all staff to ensure all breaks are taken without affecting the service
  • To work closely with other BAFTA 195 Piccadilly departments, ensuring good working relationships are developed and maintained
  • To ensure all linen is present and correct and in place in time for events
  • To work closely report to and communicate with banqueting manager
  • To follow health and safety guidelines and allergens requirements
  • To assist the Banqueting Manager on security requirements of events
  • To lead the service teams alongside the Banqueting Manager on the delivery of events
  • To ensure service standards are maintained and delivered throughout an event
  • To ensure rooms are set to the requirements of the events
  • To be a point of call for all staff and assisting the Banqueting Manager to ensure all breaks are taken without affecting the service

Ideally you will have

  • Experience of running functions and events and managing teams to deliver a high level of service
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ideally you will be:

  • Flexible, and adaptable
  • Professionally presented and able to converse fluently in English
