A British actor, who is perhaps best known for his role as Tom Simmonite in more than 90 episodes of Last of the Summer Wine (1991-2010). The character was the son of Compo, played by Bill Owen, who also was the actor’s actual father. Owen featured in various series before this, including regular roles in Freewheelers (1968-1970), Tottering Towers (1971-1972) and Hawkmoor (1978), and guest spots in various other shows, such as The Onedin Line (1973) and The Bill (1988). He had supporting roles in the feature length Unman, Wittering and Zigo (1971), Great Expectations (1974) and The Bromley Boys (2018).
