Richard Portman

An American sound re-recording mixer who was considered one of the greatest at his craft, Portman's credits included classics such as The Godfather (1972), Coal Miner's Daughter (1980) and five films for director Robert Altman.  He was nominated for five BAFTAs, winning for Nashville (1976) and Star Wars (1979), and also won an Oscar for his work on The Deer Hunter (1979).
