Peter Bogdanovich

An American, writer, director and actor, who came to prominence with a series of hits in the 1970s, starting with his third feature The Last Picture Show, which won him a BAFTA for his screenplay (shared with Larry McMurtry) and two Oscar nominations. He followed this with What’s Up, Doc? (1972), Paper Moon (1973), They All Laughed (1981), Mask (1985) and Noises Off... (1992), among other feature films. Bogdanovich also acted, with notable roles including The Sopranos (2000-2007), Out of Order (2003) and Get Shorty (2017-2019). Before directing, Bogdanovich worked as a film critic for Esquire and has written several books about other directors and filmmaking.
