Martin Charnin

An American director and lyricist best known for turning a Depression-era comic strip into the hit musical Annie, Charnin created, directed and wrote the lyrics to the Broadway show which debuted in 1977. Annie was famously adapted for the big screen in 1982 and 2014, with songs including Tomorrow and Hard-Knock Life featuring on scores of soundtracks.
