An Australian actor best known for his portrayals of Henry VIII in The Six Wives of Henry VIII (1970), Elizabeth R (1971), Henry VIII and His Six Wives (1972) and The Prince and the Pauper (1996), Michell won a BAFTA for the former. He also received a BAFTA nomination for True as a Turtle (1957).
