Jim Parker

A British composer, who was a prolific composer for British television, winning BAFTAs for his work on To Play the King (1993), Moll Flanders (1996), Tom Jones (1997) and A Rather English Marriage (1998), and earning an nomination for House of Cards (1990). Jim Parker also worked on three of Victoria Wood’s early television work, namely Talent (1979), Nearly a Happy Ending (1980) and Happy Since I Met You (1982) and appeared as her onscreen bandleader in her sketch show Wood and Walters (1981-1982). Other notable screen works included Tales of the Unexpected (1982, 1988), Mapp & Lucia (1985-1986), Wish Me Luck (1989-1990), The House of Eliott (1991-1994), The Final Cut (1995), Midsomer Murders (1997-2023), Ground Force (1997), Foyle’s War (2002-2008) and Changing Rooms (2021).
