James Allen

A director and writer whose early career focused on current affairs programmes and documentaries for American, Canadian and South American television, Allen subsequently spent four years as principal documentary writer and director for World Wide Pictures.  Later directing credits include Dick Turpin (1979-80), Robin of Sherwood (1984-86) and the feature film Burndown (1990).  Allen’s film Memorial won the BAFTA John Grierson Award for Short Film in 1973.
