A British games executive, who launched several high profile software companies in the days of console gaming. Hetherington left his position as finance director at Imagine Software to co-found Psygnosis in 1984, a company that was heavily involved in the creation and success of the original PlayStation when it was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 1993. Five years later, Hetherington left to form Evolution Studios. More recently, he held senior and advisor roles at Realtime Worlds, Midoki and Immotion Group. His impact on the industry goes far beyond the games he helped launch, which include Shadow of the Beast (1989), Lemmings (1991), Wipeout (1995), Destruction Derby (1995), Colony Wars (1997), WRC (2001), MotorStorm (2006) and Let’s Explore: Oceans (2021).
