A British television director best known for his work on The Avengers (1961-1966), Leaver helmed the show’s first episode and 19 subsequent instalments. He received BAFTA nominations for his work on Operation Patch (1976), A Fine Romance (1984, 1985) and A Touch of Frost (1995), winning for Prime Suspect (1991).
