Alvin Sargent

An American screenwriter whose film career ran from the crime caper Gambit (1966) through to three Spider-Man movies (2004-2012), Sargent was a versatile writer whose scripts regularly attracted top Hollywood talent. He was perhaps best known for his literary adaptations including Paper Moon (1973), the BAFTA-winning Julia (1977), and Ordinary People (1980).
