Today, BAFTA Scotland announces the six nominees for the BAFTA Scotland Audience Award, in partnership with Screen Scotland.
The BAFTA Scotland Audience Award for Favourite Scot on Screen in partnership with Screen Scotland, is the only award voted for by the public. The six nominees have been selected by an independent jury comprised of Scottish media and culture experts, and recognises the key Scottish talent who have made an impact with audiences in the past year.
The public can select their favourite Scot on Screen from the six nominees when voting opens at 12.00pm midday BST here. The vote remains open until 4.00pm on Wednesday 30 October, and the winner, as voted for by the public, will be announced at the BAFTA Scotland Awards ceremony on Sunday 16 November.
Nominees for the BAFTA Scotland Audience Award 2025, in partnership with Screen Scotland, are:
- Ashley Jensen for Shetland
- Gary Lamont for Rivals
- Kiran Sonia Sawar for Slow Horses
- Ncuti Gatwa for Doctor Who
- Richard Rankin for Rebus
- Sheli McCoy (Sabre) for Gladiators
Eligibility for the BAFTA Scotland Audience Award follows the same dates as the 13 competitive categories in the Awards this year, 2 May 2024 – 1 May 2025. Previous winners of the BAFTA Scotland Audience Award include Lawrence Chaney for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Sam Heughan for Outlander, Lauren Lyle for Karen Pirie and Ashley Storrie for Dinosaur.

The BAFTA Scotland Awards 2025 will take place on Sunday 16 November at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Full nominations for the BAFTA Scotland Awards in 13 competitive categories will be released on Wednesday 1 October.

The BAFTA Scotland Awards operate on a not-for-profit basis and tickets for the ceremony are available to buy at events.bafta.org from Monday 29 September.
