The 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises: Portraits
Evie Kaisi is an actor from Sheffield. She is awarded the BAFTA Scholarship to support her during her final year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she is studying Acting. Growing up in a low-income household, Evie often felt limited by the lack of affordable acting spaces. She discovered a local musical theatre group at a young age where she found the spark for her passion as a performer.
From there, she pursued GCSE and A Level Drama, actively performing in school shows and becoming a member of the National Youth Theatre, which she remains heavily involved with today. During her final year of sixth form, she became a member of Open Door, which, for the first time, placed her among other actors form working-class backgrounds. Being part of that community helped her grow in confidence and skill, ultimately leading to her place at drama school.
She said: “I am extremely grateful to be receiving this scholarship from BAFTA. The financial strain of living in London on top of doing such an intense degree can cause huge amounts of stress, and I cannot express how much of a difference this support will make. Being from a working-class background it can really feel like certain opportunities or spaces aren’t available to me and this scholarship and mentorship is going to make so many things possible for me that weren’t before.”
