The BAFTA Cymru committee elected television executive, presenter and BAFTA Cymru member Angharad Mair of the Tinopolis production company to the position of Chair of BAFTA Cymru on 21 December 2015 and she has since been re-elected on 13 December 2017 for another year's term.
Angharad is an Executive Director with Tinopolis, one of the main independent media companies in the UK, and she is Chair of Tinopolis Wales.
Her career began in BBC Wales in 1982 presenting the children’s magazine programme Bilidowcar, the moved to the News Department to present the breakfast news bulletins for BBC Wales.
Angharad then progressed to present Wales Today and Newyddion for S4C. She joined Tinopolis in 1990 as one of the first presenters of the new magazine programme Heno.
Angharad continues to present the programme and she is also Editor of S4C’s daily programmes which include Heno and the afternoon show Prynhawn Da.
She was a columnist for the Wales on Sunday and the Welsh magazine Golwg for 5 years where she often wrote about the importance of the creative industries in Wales. She is also a keen runner and she represented Great Britain in the marathon in the World Championships in Athens in 1997.
