An influential figure in 60s British cinema, Tenser and production partner Michael Klinger began making risqué exploitation movies and ended up backing Roman Polanski on Repulsion (1965) and Cul-de-Sac (1966). Later, under the aegis of his company Tigon, Tenser produced The Witchfinder General (1968) and Black Beauty (1971) among others.
