An American born mezzo-soprano, Stevens appeared in a handful of films during her long musical career. These include The Chocolate Soldier (1941) and the Bing Crosby vehicle Going My Way (1944). She also appeared as herself in Carnegie Hall (1947), and voiced a character in Journey Back To Oz (1964).
