Signed to a contract by MGM after the war, English born Stapley starred in The Three Musketeers (1948) and Little Women (1949). Returning to Europe he acted under the name Richard Wyler in television series such as Man From Interpol (1960-61) with films including The Barbarians (1960) and Frenzy (1972).
