A much loved French entertainer, Salvador enjoyed success with a series of novelty pop hits. He was the star of eponymous television specials including Salves D’Or (1968) and Dimanche Salvador (1973). An influential exponent of the French ‘chanson’, his broad comedic style earned him the nickname Monsieur Joie De Vivre.
