An Irish actress who enjoyed a distinguished stage career, Redman also made her mark in film. She shared a celebrated raunchy dining scene with Albert Finney in Tom Jones (1963) later appeared opposite Laurence Olivier in Othello (1965) and also starred in classic television series including Clayhanger (1976) and others.
