Along with writing partner Harry Driver, Powell was responsible for a string of popular sitcoms beginning in the 1960s. Best remembered is the controversial Love Thy Neighbour (1972-76), with others including Never Mind The Quality, Feel The Width (1967-71), For The Love of Ada (1972) and Mind Your Language (1977-79).
