Alan Plater

A versatile writer who contributed to the popular series Z-Cars (1963-65), Plater wrote the sitcom Oh No It’s Selwyn Froggit (1976-77) and adapted classics including The Good Companions (1980-81) and The Barchester Chronicles (1982). He also wrote The Beiderbecke Affair (1985) and the BAFTA winning A Very British Coup (1988).
