Entering television as a researcher, Pearson hit her stride producing a variety of factual programmes at independent television and the BBC. These include The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald (1977), South of Watford (1984) and The Horse And His Boys (1994) before embarking on a successful career as a novelist.
