A character actor in film and television, Morgan is best remembered for roles in two long running series. He was Joe Friday’s sidekick Bill Gannon in Dragnet (1967-70) and Colonel Potter in M*A*S*H (1975-83). His films include High Noon (1952), The Glenn Miller Story (1954) and Inherit The Wind (1960).
